Grant A Wish Food Program is a member agency with the Greater Chicago Food Depository for over the last 20 years. Throughout those years, we have maintained the courage to continue to feed over 150,000 people needing food. We have with the unwavering support of the Greater Chicago Food Depository which has made it possible all these years to help us continue to make a difference with their constant support and love. The Greater Chicago Food Depository has been instrumental in supporting the entire food network of kitchens, pantries, and shelters with access to food items and products at no cost. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused so many of us to alter the way we navigate and live our lives. With the innovative programs and support systems, the GCFD has in place which includes the onsite delivery of our placed order twice a month, has certainly helped us do a better job. We thank the GCFD for what they are doing and have done since their inception to feed the hungry & being an advocate to address the issues and concerns of the more vulnerable communities fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The GCFD has participated with the USDA in a program called CFAP which stands for Coronavirus Food Assistance Program, that delivers milk, meat & combination boxes directly to food programs on their distribution days to help those needing additional food products. Some of the various vendors deliver the milk and Gourmet Gorilla combination boxes direct to our front door of our Grant A Wish Food Program just about every Saturday morning to our food program. The combination boxes usually have yogurt, butter, onions, potatoes, various produce items, fruit, and other items. Presently we get a total of 65 boxes delivered every Saturday morning and beginning August 1, 2020, we will be getting an additional delivery of 65 gallons of milk every Saturday along with the combination boxes. Also, it is in addition to what we already give away from bread, eggs, produce, a variety of meat, can goods, and other items for the enrichment of the community. We all can and should try to make a difference, this is the only life we have, so let make it worth living. If you or someone you know is in need of food than feel free to come to our food program.
