Ms. Anne Blair founded Grant A Wish, Inc., in 1981 in Chicago to help make a difference in the lives of the children she met who experienced personal poverty, with no adequate clothing, shoes, or coats, and needed additional supportive services like a new pair of eyeglasses and other requested supportive items. She would rally her legion of supporters, who would help her buy shoes, coats, and other essentials that were given to her to give to the children in the form of a wish.
One of our most important successful programs is our Grant A Wish Baby Program. We provide what is in our inventory at the time of an appointment, which can be a crib, a bassinet or crib, stroller, carseat, playpen, a changing table, high chairs, and a variety of other supplies like, diapers, wipes, shampoo, and lotion, a large inventory of baby clothes, and other baby supplies. etc. Many of our baby items in stock are used but in very good condition, and they are given away free of charge.
